Tight, inflamed muscles and fascia suffer from poor circulation and develop glue-like adhesions which prevent muscles from lengthening completely.  Painful trigger points can develop, often referring pain to other areas of the body.  In extreme cases tight muscles can compress nerves, causing numbness and tingling.

Our massage therapists use a variety of techniques to address soft tissue problems.  Gentle kneading and stretching lengthens contracted muscles and fascia and can release trigger points.

Massage therapy also increases circulation which helps muscle and ligaments soften and lengthen.  In conjunction with softening of muscles, improved circulation helps lymphatic drainage (removal of toxins) and increased blood flow to lower extremities, an important concern for people suffering with diabetes.

Aqua Massage (Dry Hydrotherapy)

Dry hydrotherapy is a combination of time proven therapies of whirlpool treatments, heat, and massage in a single system.  You are fully clothed, comfortably supported and protected by a durable barrier while streams of heated water (95 degrees) are directed to the treatment area of your body.

How will I feel during treatment?

Many patients say they feel totally at ease with a deep sense of peacefulness.  Others report a tingling sensation as circulation is increased.  Everyone's individual experience may vary, but all share the same opinion: aqua massage is wonderfully therapeutic!

Infrared Light (Cold Laser) Therapy

Infrared light therapy has been cleared by the FDA to provide topical heating for temporary increased blood circulation, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches, and pain and stiffness of muscles.  Treatment is painless and only takes a few minutes.

Infrared light stimulates cells at the molecular level.  The light stimulates absorption in the Mitochondria and Cell membranes and increases ATP, DNA and RNA synthesis.  This chemical reaction translates into reduced swelling, increased tissue repair and pain relief.
